Director of the Tax Division


Jon Iversen was named director of the Alaska Tax Division on Jan. 10, 2007. He most recently served as an assistant attorney general in the Oil, Gas & Mining section for the State of Alaska. His areas of experience include oil and gas production taxes, property tax assessments and appeals, and oil and gas royalties, leases and unitization.

Before joining the attorney general’s office, Jon was an associate attorney with Eide, Miller & Pate, P.C. in Anchorage practicing civil litigation. He previously served as a judicial clerk for Superior Court Judge Larry D. Card in Anchorage.

Jon holds a law degree and a master's in business administration from the University of Colorado, and a bachelor’s degree in English, Spanish and international business from the University of Wyoming.

He is licensed to practice law in Alaska and Wyoming.

Jon and his wife Allison have one daughter. They live in Anchorage.
